On my last trip to New York City, my husband took me to the Waldorf, which I had never been to before. It was luxurious and exciting, and more than anything, it was a nice beak from the hustle and bustle of the busy city. To soak the long day off it the tub was one of the best things about ending the day back at our five star hotel.

I had literally never stayed anywhere so nice before and I am not sure that I ever will. The luxury and class of the Waldorf was something to be marveled at and talked about and all of my friends were super jealous of me. I took as many pictures while staying in the Waldorf as I did while we were out exploring the city.

I really hope to one day find myself staying back in the Waldorf and I can confidently say that my husband feels the same. We would not have changed a single thing about our trip and had not a single complaint about our stay or accommodations.

Ever since I was a little girl, My uncle has always sent me pictures of the Empire State building. I had a whole cork board in my room dedicated strictly to his letters and photographs. Still, the Empire State building always took center stage. I always dreamed of seeing it for myself and when I was ten, my mom and dad took me to visit our family, including my uncle, for the first time. It was on that trip when I finally got to see the building for myself.

Going to the Empire State building was so exciting for me and took a bunch of pictures and wrote down notes so that I could do a report on it for school. When I showed all of my photographs and shared facts with my classmates, I felt super cool and proud of my adventure. Since that initial visit, I have been back to the city on several occasions and I have never felt any less excited about it than I did when I was ten. I am a huge Beatles fan, especially John Lennon. In fact, my son's middle name is Lennon and I have raised him under the heavy musical influence of the Beatles and the member's individual works as well. Taking him to central park to see Strawberry Fields was always something that I really wanted to do, but I was not sure if my husband and I would ever be able to afford it. However, I came across an online superstore in reference to vacation deals, and we were finally able to plan a trip!

With our cheap deals, we had our trip scheduled in no time and we saved such a great deal of money. We did not worry a single time about our spending while we were in New York City, we only enjoyed our vacation deals and had a great time. Our son, Alexander Lennon had an equally good time and was really well behaved. Our trip went so well that we are planning to take another sometime in the near future. Whenever I have a trip to take, whether it be business or pleasure, I absolutely always bring a journal with me. I do not bring just any journal with me though, I always make a specific one for the place I am going to. One of my most favorite traveling journals I kept was from when I went on a New York City vacation a few years ago. I made my New York City vacation journal to look like the major hot tourists spots in the city, so it was really cute and creative.

When I got home from my New York City vacation with all of my stories, observations and even poetry about the place, many of my friends and family members came over for a dinner party and a reading from my journal. I could see everyone really connecting with my vision and portrayal of my adventure and I felt very proud that I was being so open with my art.

From hearing my tales out of my New York City journal, many of my friends have since planned trips to New York themselves. Each one who has, has taken my advice and kept a journal as well. I have always enjoyed taking trips to New York, especially when my trip is heavy in New York City subway transportation. I find there to be so many misconceptions about the New York City subway system and silly fears. No matter the situation, using common sense and awareness makes problems and uncomfortable situations very easily avoidable. I have never once felt scared or uneasy on the New York subway.

One time, I got a friend to come with me to New York and when I told her that we were going to be riding on the New York City subway for our next location, her jaw nearly hit the floor. I do not know what she had been told about the train, but she was very apprehensive about going down into the subway station. However, once I got her into the station and she saw the street performers and artists, she was put at ease. Then when we got into the train car, she had a blast. It just goes to show that you can never really know something until you know it personally.

Growing up with several brothers made it almost entirely impossible not to be treated like one of the guys. Lucky for me, I love it! We spend our weekends cooking out and watching our favorite team, the New York Yankees play. Last year, one of the guys came up with an awesome idea. We would pool our funds and plan a trip to New York to see our beloved New York Yankees play. None of us had other responsibilities and we were easily able to put in time off from work since it would be the following season. It completely worked out and we got to go on our trip.

Seeing the New York Yankees play in their stadium was absolutely unbelievable. We had such a great time and by the time that the game was over, all of our voices were hoarse from cheering from our favorite team. We all agreed that we had never been on such a fun trip before and by working together, we were all able to easily afford the trip. Luckily, one of the guys is an internet buff and found some awesome deals for us. The trip went so well in fact, we may go on another for the New York Yankees next season as well.

For our last vacation, my boyfriend and I went to New York City and one of our big highlights for the trip was when we went to see the New York Mets. My guy has been into the New York Mets for as long as I have known him, which is ten years. I knew that for him seeing the Mets play was something he had been dreaming of for a really long time, and I was looking forward to the game as well.

When we arrived in New York, the only thing that my boyfriend could talk about was the New York Mets game that we were going to the following day, and the whole day he seemed distracted by it. Even that night when we went to bed in the hotel, he could seriously not fall asleep out of sheer excitement.

The Mets game that we went to was a blast! We ate, drank and cheered for our team with unwavering enthusiasm. The whole trip to New York was amazing, but that day out of the seven that we were there was easily our favorite.

When I was a little girl in grade school, my teacher gave us an assignment where we had to keep a pen pal for the whole year. My pen pal's name was Anna and she lived in New York City. I was so excited, as I had only heard stories and seen a few pictures of New York City. The second letter that she sent to me had a picture in it that she had taken herself and it was of the New York skyline. I fell in love with the place right away and would dream about seeing the New York skyline for myself from that day on, until recently when my dream came true.

I was finally able to go to New York and as we flew in over the New York skyline, it was what I had always imagined, only more. One of the most exciting things about my visit was that I was actually going to see my pen pal Anna from grade school. We have always stayed in touch since our first letter, so I got to see the city from her point of view. It was a life changing experience and I really feel that I could wake up to see the New York skyline every day. Hopefully my next trip to New York will be a moving venture!

I find myself under dressed as I walk the lobby way and admire the old architecture of the Waldorf Hotel. The main entrance and restaurant reek of old money as I explore this beautiful, old establishment of the Waldorf. I can picture in my mind all the great politicians, big wigs and old stars of the past walk these same polished marble floors. The Waldorf exudes wealth and very refined tastes. It was something I had to check out as I was on my New York City vacation. I like to visit spots that are popular, of course, like the Empire State Building and the Statue of Liberty, but I also visit places I heard mentioned in old movies or read about. The Waldorf, Soho, Greenwich Village districts are places that have been mentioned in many articles, so I venture into those areas too. The New York City vacation encompasses far too many places to explore in just one trip. The many times I have been there, I still haven’t even touched the surface of visiting all there is in the Big Apple.

At this point, I usually get on the computer and search for vacation deals. Not that I can afford to travel every few months but on the chance I see a deal I can’t pass up it is nice to keep an eye on vacation deals. I live in Southern California and the last few weekends I went out of town were all to cities on this side of the map. A New York City vacation just seems right. The other side of the country is almost like going to a different world. When people say California is a more laid-back side of the coast they are not lying. It has been many years since I’ve seen the New York skyline but now seems like a better time then ever to do it.

When I was there last it was with my family and I was under 21. Now I’m old enough to experience the night life and do it up without the watchful eye of parents. The only way to get a true feeling for a city is to go out at night.

About five years ago, my brother went to New York City with a friend who had a business trip there. My brother, who lives in the southwest, had never been to the east coast and was thrilled beyond belief. Since he was a little boy, his favorite baseball team was the New York Yankees and his friend and he were going during baseball season. My brother was going to have a mini New York City vacation of three days. It wasn’t much time, since it takes most of the day to get there and settle in, but he wasn’t going to complain. Once there, they both bought tickets to see a Yankees game the next day. My brother took a New York City subway and just toured the city on his own. He didn’t have time to do the usual sights, like the Statue of Liberty, etc. but he loved the energy of the city. He was in heaven that he got to see his Yankees on their own turf. He will never forget that trip and wants to go back. I personally love New York City too and maybe the both of us will plan a trip together there soon.

When I began my first year in High School, I was so nervous about my grades. I had been able to keep up a 4.0 since I began going to school and I was worried that I would bend under the pressure of High School. I knew that there would be many more obstacles ahead of me on my way to a good college, I was only hoping to find a way to keep on my game. I was so happy when my dad gave me the inspiration I needed to succeed, he told me that if I kept up my 4.0, he would take me on a New York City vacation. 

I had always wanted to go on a New York City vacation and I knew that with that in my mind, I would be able to keep my grades up. When my last report card came out and I had achieved my constant 4.0 GPA, I screamed and ran around the house to tell my dad. All I had to do was hand it over to him and he knew, we were already on our way to our New York City vacation. The people in our country have all different kinds of hobbies that span all possible imaginings. As for me, I have a different type of hobby, I love to people watch. I actually have made a study out of it. I have dozens of journals filled with the experiences I have shared with those around me and I have even been talking to an editor to publish them. I can easily say that the best people watching location I have ever been was the New York City subway.

The first time that I went to ride the New York City subway, I was shocked at how many interesting people were around me. There were far more musicians and artists set up than I would have ever imagined and I was feeling inspiration from every direction. I knew right at the moment I took my last step down into the New York City subway, I would never find a place like it.

Any time that I feel I am lacking inspiration or connection to my fellow American, I just read through my New York City subway journal entries and I feel much better. I really hope that my work gets published so I may share my experiences with the world!

The fact that I have been able to visit New York on a consistent basis makes me one of the most lucky people that I know. I love the feeling of being familiar with New York, I really feel that I belong there and that it is another home to me. My favorite part of New York is Manhattan, and one of the most beautiful sights I have ever seen on all of my many world travels is the Manhattan part of the New York skyline at dusk.

Every day that I have spent in New York, I have made sure to be able to see a good view of the New York skyline around sunset. Imagine having the most delicious piece of New York cheesecake while watching the vibrant colors of the sunset fading over the New York skyline. I could not imagine anything more lovely if I tried. I am really hoping that one of these days I will be enjoying my New York skyline and look besides me to see the man of my dreams doing the same thing. I really feel that eventually I will be a real New Yorker.

There are few places on earth that are as amazing as the city of New York. Growing up I had several opportunities to visit New York City and see many of its wondrous sites. I remember walking by the Waldorf Astoria amazed by its magnificence and the amazement I felt the first time I saw the Empire State Building and Statue of Liberty. Back then we were able to walk up the long circular stairs into Ms. Liberty’s head to view the New York skyline. It was amazing! My memories of eating hot dogs at the New York Mets and New York Yankees games with my grandfather are still clear as day. I loved the thrill of riding on the New York City subway.

Recently I decided I wanted to share some of my childhood memories with my own children and set out to plan a New York City vacation. Last year, my children had to do a project about the Statue of Liberty, since then they had asked me countless times about going to visit New York. I really wanted to take them on an educational tour of the city and the many tourist attractions, so I began planning our trip.

My husband thought it was a great idea and hopped on board right away. It was only a matter of months before we set out on our adventure. It was so funny when we took them to Battery park to see the Statue of Liberty from afar, they had no idea that we were about to take them on the ferry and actually go to it. My children and husband had never been on a ferry before and they were a little apprehensive about it at first but as soon as we got going, they loved it! We took so many pictures as we grew closer and closer to the Statue of Liberty and our children, who are usually too cool to hug their parents in public, had their arms wrapped around us the whole way there.

When we got to the island I was reawakened to the beauty of the Statue of Liberty and everything that it stands for. My husband, who had never seen it in person, was hushed in awe in front of her. My children were the most effected by how large and intimidating the Statue of Liberty is. They brought their notebooks and began writing about her so that they could earn extra credit for school. It was the all around best trip that we have ever shared together as a family.
