I am a New York Mets fan, and have been since the early 80's when I started watching baseball regularly on television. I've always wanted to go to see them play at Shea Stadium, but never had the chance to until a
few years ago during the World Series. In fact, it was a New York City subway series between the New York Mets and the New York Yankees.

It was simply amazing. The stadium was electric. Everyone was from New York, but had either a Yankees jersey or a Mets jersey on. The New York Mets lost that subway series, but at least I got to watch them play in the World Series. I was also able to take a little New York City vacation and visit the Empire State Building. Being from the Midwest, I don't really get to see cities of that size, or even near it. The people, the cultures, and the amazing cityscapes were amazing. I'm hoping to be able to get another New York City vacation soon. I just hope it is during baseball season.
